First steel cut for conversion device
As Dragon moves to the next stage of development and testing of its proposed Oil Shale conversion and separation process first steel has been cut for the pilot scale cross flow pyrolysis unit. After initial design approval, Sami and Cameron took lead in producing AutoCAD drawings for the units component parts. These drawings were transferred to Weldco in a neighboring facility where they were loaded onto their water jet cutting system.
The water jet cut components were then welded together to form the finished device. The unit is constructed with research in mind and can be disassembled in order to test different cross flow entry and exit plates or internal configurations.
